Manufactured by ΛdiThiel – the ArchaeoSmith

***

I am Adam Thiele, Ph.D, materials scientist, engineer and smith. I use ΛdiThiel as a brand name for my products. The name the ArchaeoSmith explains my main activity.
This Viking axe has a body of C15 steel and a cutting edge of hard steel forge welded into the body. It was made based on archaeological findings and it has a hardened, durable cutting edge. The handle was carved of dogwood which is the best woodtype for short handled tools, eg. axes, hammers, etc. The head is fixed on the handle with an iron fixing part that protects the handle as well during splitting wood. This light axe head is suitable for woodworking.
