Iron Smelting Camp 2014

Industrial archaeologists have found numerous medieval bloomery centres mainly from the period of the settlement of the Hungarians in the territory of present-day Hungary, and from the Avar and Árpád age (7-13th century). On the basis of the findings, the medieval Hungarian iron culture may be reconstructed, getting from the soil to the iron product. The following video shows this ancient iron smelting technology.

 

I am organising an Iron Smelting Camp in the summer of 2014 as well, between 16-20 July in Hungary.
